California Watercolor Association

Founded in 1967, and incorporated 1975 as a non-profit organization to promote watercolor painting, the California Watercolor Association (CWA) is now the largest regional watermedia organization in California. It offers a full calendar of outreach programs, workshops by award winning artists, and many other resources to promote independent watermedia artists and to engage the public through our education programs and exhibits.

CWA organizes several membership exhibits each year, plus special promotional shows, which are juried by one of our qualified members. Our National Exhibition is juried by accomplished and renowned artists, and attracts entries from watermedia artists worldwide.

Our monthly newsletter provides current information on workshops, meetings, future shows, news of our guest speakers, new sources for art supplies, and current events of our members. Plein air painting sessions are held at selected locales and are successful outdoor enterprises for great fun, friendship, and paintings!
